The Maze Runner Review

After going to YALLfest 2014 and meeting James Dashner, my mom decided she had to read his book The Maze Runner. Below is her review of the book! :)

The Maze Runner
By: James Dashner

Synopsis From Goodreads:

If you ain’t scared, you ain’t human.

When Thomas wakes up in the lift, the only thing he can remember is his name. He’s surrounded by strangers—boys whose memories are also gone.

Nice to meet ya, shank. Welcome to the Glade.

Outside the towering stone walls that surround the Glade is a limitless, ever-changing maze. It’s the only way out—and no one’s ever made it through alive.

Everything is going to change.

Then a girl arrives. The first girl ever. And the message she delivers is terrifying.

Remember. Survive. Run.

Mom's Review:

Rating:

In taking my 23yr old and 13yr old to Yallfest and then standing in line for them so they could get The Maze Runner signed by James Dashner I listened to many people talking about the book and it started to intrigue me. Then I was finally at the front of the to get the book signed and James Dashner was just an amazing person so I decided I would take a crack at reading this book.

Right from the beginning this book pulls you right in to the character Thomas. Just as Thomas learns about where he is and the other boys as well as what lies behind the wall you feel as if you are in the journey right along with Thomas. You feel his pain as well as his urgency to find a way out.

When the last glader arrives you can feel the connection between Thomas and Theresa. Even though characters that you grew to love don't make it out it leaves you wondering what's next for the Gladers that survived the intense Maze Trials.

I highly reccomend this book!
