Review: Half-blood by: Jennifer L. Armentrout

Half-blood
By: Jennifer L. Armentrout

Genre: Young Adult Fantasy
Length: 281 pages
Synopsis From Goodreads:

The Hematoi descend from the unions of gods and mortals, and the children of two Hematoi pure bloods have godlike powers. Children of Hematoi and mortals--well, not so much. Half-bloods only have two options: become trained Sentinels who hunt and kill daimons or become servants in the homes of the pures.

Seventeen-year-old Alexandria would rather risk her life fighting than waste it scrubbing toilets, but she may end up slumming it anyway. There are several rules that students at the Covenant must follow. Alex has problems with them all, but especially rule #1:Relationships between pures and halfs are forbidden. Unfortunately, she's crushing hard on the totally hot pure-blood Aiden. But falling for Aiden isn't her biggest problem--staying alive long enough to graduate the Covenant and become a Sentinel is.

If she fails in her duty, she faces a future worse than death or slavery: being turned into a daimon, and being hunted by Aiden. And that would kind of suck.

My Review:

Rating:

Another amazing book by Jennifer L. Armentrout! This book had me hooked from page one. I started reading the Titans series and fell in love with the characters. Once I read The Power I figured I had better start reading 0 0 series as soon as possible so that I could understand more of Seth's background. I am so glad I started this series, it is absolutely amazing and I love the characters.

Jennifer L. Armentrout is an amazing author, I love all her books and this one was no exception. She really knows how to bring the Covenant world alive and gets you invested in the characters. I truly enjoy books like that! Books that pull you in from the very beginning. Plus this book had so many twists and turns I didn't see coming. Alex an Apollyon and her mother a diamon. What?!?

Alex was the best female protagonist I've read about in a long time. She went through the emotions of losing her mom only to find she was a daimon and yet she was still a strong female character. She was rebellious and didn't like following the rules, which made her a very interesting and fun character to read. Her witty comments and attitude reminded me alot of Seth.

Seth was still super swoon-worthy even in this book. Jennifer makes it very hard to choose between two males characters because Aiden and Seth are both amazing for different reasons. I loved watching Aiden and Alex's forbidden relationship blossom. I can't wait to see what is in store for these two in Pure.

Caleb was my favorite secondary character, he is the best friend every girl wants. The way he was always there for Alex and no matter what he had her back. Jennifer had me worried about his fate there for a bit towards the end. I look forward to reading more of he and Alex's shenanigans in book two.

I can't wait to get my hands on Pure, I am going to have to purchase book two as soon as possible. I must know what happens between Aiden and Alex!
