My Review:
Rating:

First, I must say that I absolutely love the graphics!!

This is my first graphic novel, I've always picked them up but when it came to ever buying a copy I always found some reason for talking myself out of it. I never thought I would enjoy a graphic novel as much as I do a book.

However, after reading The Walking Dead I can say I was pleasantly surprised. I found myself getting hooked on the story and looking forward to what happened next. The graphics really brought the story to life.

I am a huge fan of the show and that is one of the may reasons I decided to read the graphic novels. I wanted to see how different the comics were from the show. And I was happy to find that while there were a lot of similarities, there were just as many differences.

Volume 1: Days Gone Bye was very much a perfect picture of what happened in episode one of the first season. There was very little that veered off course, up until the end. I did not expect for such a significant character to die so soon in the comics.

Volume 2: Miles Behind Us was very different from the show. This is the volume in which we meet Herschel and gang at the farm house. I much prefer Herschel from the show to Herschel in the comics. In the books he is such a hateful and violent man. Not the religious, over-protective father that many love from the show. However, who knows he may become very lovable in later volumes.

It was interesting to see how the characters were portrayed, before they became hit characters in one of TV's most watched shows.

I look forward to getting the rest of the books and reading on because not only did I find myself enjoying the books, I also liked comparing the two worlds of The Walking Dead.
